WELCOME TO THE HUDSON VALLEY CHAPTER OF THE NEW YORK MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELORS ASSOCIATION
New York Mental Health Counselors Association (NYMHCA) Hudson Valley is a regional organization that endeavors to offer exemplary mental health services to the residents of our community. NYMHCA Hudson Valley provides opportunities for Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Counselors in Training, and other mental health professionals to network, obtain peer support, and advance one’s education and professional development, as well as mentor students coming into the profession. The only requirement for joining NYMHCA Hudson Valley is to be a member in good standing of NYMHCA.
NYMHCA is the advocacy organization representing the clinical counselors of New York State with a continuing role to protect and enhance the rights of counselors to practice our profession. NYMHCA is the state branch of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA). Membership in AMHCA is encouraged by not required to join NYMHCA.
AMHCA is a growing community of more than 6,000 clinical mental health counselors making a critical impact on the lives of Americans. AMHCA succeeds in giving a voice to our profession nationwide and in helping to serve you and your colleagues in your state. The mission of AMHCA is to enhance the profession of clinical mental health counseling through licensing, advocacy, education and professional development, while its vision is to be the national organization representing licensed clinical mental health counselors and state chapters, with consistent standards of education, training, licensing, practice, advocacy and ethics.
